When Things Start to Shift
The challenge is not just performance itself, but how inconsistent it can become over time.
Following on from my last post in this series about what good building management looks like…
One of the challenges in this environment is not just performance itself, but how inconsistent it can become over time.
In many buildings, things run well for long periods. And then gradually, things start to shift. Not always in obvious ways. It might be:
- presentation slipping slightly
- maintenance taking longer
- common areas not feeling as well cared for
Individually, these may feel like small things. But over time, they add up.
And here’s the real issue. There’s often no structured way to:
- define what “good” should look like
- track whether it’s being delivered
- or identify when performance is starting to change
Committees and residents feel it — before they can clearly explain it.
